What kind of ink is used for your labels?

Our labels are printed with vegetable based ink (soy).

What material is your labels made of and are they wateproof ?

The labels are offered in two materials:  standard and water-resistant.  The standard labels are "traditional" matte stickers with a permanent, all purpose adhesive back.  The water-resistant labels are vinyl stickers with an ultra gloss finish, and feature a permanent, all purpose adhesive back.  These are waterproof and can be used outdoors.  If placed on reusable containers, hand washing is recommended.  Not recommended for dishwasher use or submerging in water for a long period of time.

Do you personalize labels with children's names or allergens, such as peanut free, gluten free, etc?

Typically, we do not personalize our labels.  Every child has their own dietary needs and the labels serve as a general and versatile platform for safely labeling food.  You can, however, personalize the labels using a fine point permanent marker.  Standard labels can be personalized with a ballpoint pen or a fine point permanent marker. Please allow sufficient drying time. This technique is great for families with multiple children with food allergies. NOTE: Please contact us for custom printed labels. Custom orders have separate pricing and there is a minimum quantity that will be required for purchase.  We're here to help keep children safe, so please feel free to contact us to discuss how we can assist you.

Can the labels be used instead of reading ingredients?

No! Parents shouldn't rely only on the labeling system, they should continue to monitor their children's food and continue to communicate with their children, stressing the importance of making sure what they eat is indeed safe.  Before using this system, children should be aware of their food allergies and understand that the labels/food storage is only an aid in differentiating their foods from other foods.  The Trac-it Light system is recommended for use by responsible adults and children 3 and over.  Parental Supervision Required.
